I’m back on WordPress again! I wanted to start blogging on Blogger because it’s free and whatnot. But my interactions there are hardly existent. As much as I love blogging on that site, it’s just not something that I really enjoy because I miss having the interactions.
With that being said, I wanted to do the Mid-Year Book Tag today! It’s halfway through 2020 and this year has sucked so bad. I’m not talking about my reading, that’s been great. And Animal Crossing has changed my life. Everything else sucked.
I found these questions from @NikkiSwiftReads. I’m not sure who originally made this tag… if you know, please tell me!
How much have you read?
I’ve been busy this year! This is the most I’ve ever read this early in the year. I think it may be safe to say that I’ll hit 100 books for the first time! Audiobooks have been a life saver, especially since I started playing Animal Crossing.
I also started reading more romance books. I feel like I get through those a lot faster than fantasy.
I have now read 67 books because I just finished The Honey-Don’t List by Christina Lauren.
Best book you’ve read so far in 2020?
House Of Earth And Blood by Sarah J. Maas. I was highly anticipating this book’s release. I was very fortunate that I received a copy a week before it’s release date, thanks to a wonderful friend of mine. I absolutely adored this book. I was laughing and crying. I’m planning a reread later this year….
Best sequel you’ve read so far this year?
I freaking loved Bromance Book Club. When I picked up Undercover Bromance, I was surprised that I liked it as much as the book before it. I’m really hoping that I love the next book in this series as well.
New release you haven’t read yet, but want to.
The Court Of Miracles by Kester Grant. I’ve heard so many things about this book. It was advertised very well before it’s release date. I can’t wait to see what it’s all about! I’m also aware that I was wrong thinking this is a Hunchback Of Notre Dame retelling, I think it’s Les Mes.
Most anticipated release for the second part of the year?
Even though V.E. Schwab’s books are hit or miss with me, I’m very excited for The Invisible Life Of Addie LaRue. I’m hoping this book is going to be one I really love.
All We Ever Wanted by Emily Giffin. I honestly thought I was going to hate this book. It’s considered Women’s Fiction. This is the first Women’s Fiction book I’ve read and I really enjoyed this story. It’s a book that deals with a serious topic and I think that’s why I liked it so much.
New favorite author (debut or new to you)?
Penelope Douglas has made her way up to one of my favorite romance authors. I read one of her books last year and I’ve read two this year. I think she just recently become a favorite author of mine, which is why I’m using her for this answer.
Underrated gems you’ve discovered recently?
Meet Cute Club by Jack Harbon. I feel like I have only seen a few people read this book! It’s so freaking cute. I recommend this book to any person that enjoys romance novels. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to read more from this author.
Rereads this year?
I had to reread the Heartstopper series because it’s just so freaking cute and I believe Vol. 3 came out earlier this year. This is my favorite graphic novel to read, it makes me feel so nostalgic.
I also reread the Blood Ties series by Jennifer Armintrout. This is my favorite vampire series. This is the first time I’ve reread this series in a few years so I decided it was time to review them!
Newest fictional crush?
I don’t get fictional crushes! I think the only fictional character I ever was obsessed with and swooned over was The Darkling. That has not changed, he is still bae.
Newest favorite character?
Bryce Quinlan from House Of Earth And Blood by Sarah J. Maas. I really freaking love this book. I love Bryce’s character, even though I feel like a lot of people didn’t.
Book that made you cry?
Of course, House Of Earth And Blood is on this list yet again. The ending of this book had me crying so much. I’m still not over it. I also cried while reading More Than Words by Jill Santopolo. I don’t deal with family deaths well and this book definitely had that aspect in it.
Book that made you happy?
Josh + Hazel’s Guide To Not Dating by Christina Lauren. This book was unbelievably adorable. I loved everything about this book!
Favorite book to film adaptation?
I haven’t really watched a lot of movies or shows this year. I’ve been focusing on my reading and Animal Crossing. I did watch the final season to Thirteen Reasons Why and had a meltdown. That series finale killed me. I’m still sad.
Most beautiful cover you’ve bought this year?
I’m biased. House Of Earth And Blood…. again….
What books do you need to read by the end of the year?
Empire Of Gold by S.A. Chakraborty. I loved the first two books in this trilogy. I’m excited to see how it ends! I can’t wait to get it!
Favorite post you’ve done so far this year?
I feel like my blogging has been all over the place this year. I’m not going to give an answer to this.
